The Pittsburgh Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. will host our signature fundraising event, the 22nd Jack and Jill Presentation Ball. This captivating affair will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh. At this event, we will honor the achievements of our junior and senior high school students.
“A Tradition Like No Other” is the theme of our 2024 Presentation Ball, and the net proceeds will benefit two philanthropic organizations: the Homeless Children’s Education Fund and the Jack and Jill Foundation, our national charity.

Our 2024 Charity Beneficiaries
The Homeless Children Education Fund (HCEF) is the primary beneficiary of the Ball’s net proceeds. HCEF focuses on enriching the education of homeless children in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Established in 1999, it supports these children through educational programs and advocacy, aiming to break the cycle of poverty. HCEF believes in education as a right that empowers children and youth to become productive citizens.
The Jack and Jill Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. The mission of the Jack and Jill Foundation is to address the issues that affect African American children and families by investing in programs and services that create a strong foundation for children to thrive long term.

Volunteer at Homeless Children Education Fund (HCEF)
On 3/28, some of our Jack and Jill Teens participated in HCEF’s monthly teen night at the Carnegie Library. This program was developed to encourage peer tutoring and is in the beginning stages, where the teens are socializing and getting to know each other.

Recent Presentation Balls, Themes, and Charities
The 2022 Presentation Ball highlighted Raised in Resiliency, Grounded in Grace and proceeds went to the Josh Gibson Foundation.
Our 2021 Presentation Ball was a Celebration of Legacy, Resilience, and Purpose. Our 20th Biennial Ball net proceeds were donated to Jeremiah’s Place.
Our 2018 Presentation Ball, boasted the theme “Honoring Our Tradition While Building our Legacy”, with net proceeds donated to the Homewood Village.
The 2016 ball highlighted “The future belongs to those who prepare for it today” with Gateway Medical Society’s Journey to Academic Medicine as the local non-profit recipient.
In 2014 Ball, the charity recipient was Healthy Start, Inc. and the chapter raised nearly $50,000 in contributions. This was the largest charitable donation in the chapter’s history.
Our 2012 Ball, “Our Journey: Creating Our Legacy” benefitted the Neighborhood Academy. The Neighborhood Academy school located in the city of Pittsburgh that provides a holistic college-preparatory education for students in grades 6-12.
Other Presentation Ball recipients include the August Wilson African American Cultural Center (2008); the Sickle Cell Foundation (2006); and the Three Rivers Adoption Agency (2004).
